Sandwell Manor

ABOUT

You're in a great location to enjoy the huge array of leisure pursuits that the South Hams has to offer! With great local beaches just 30 minutes away and the National Park on the doorstep, there's something for everyone!

Totnes is the closest town and is well known for being a Transition Town and tourists flock there to seep up the history, boutique, independent shops and a good selection of cafes and eateries. It offers art galleries and most alternative therapies out there. The famous Sharpham vineyard is only 10 minutes away, boasting wine and cheese tasting, alfresco dining and stunning views over the River Dart.

The English Riviera is only 10 miles away and quite a few National Trust locations, notably Greenaway House which was Agatha Christie's summer home. Dartmouth and Salcombe are popular destinations with lots of high end 'yachty' outlets and interior design shops. A fun way of getting to Dartmouth is on the riverboat from Totnes, meeting up with the steam train and then an open-topped double-decker bus back to town!

For those who enjoy long walks, there are some lovely local walks from the house where you don't have to go near the main road, and for those whose destination is the pub, you can always walk there across the fields to the 13th Century local pub in Harberton village! Dartmoor National Park and the coast offers hours of fabulous trails and more rugged walks. For the golfers amongst you don't forget your clubs as there are some famous courses that you should pay a visit to whilst you're here.

Children will love the variety of theme parks and Zoos near here. And you can't leave Devon before everyone has tried their hands at crabbing and rock-pooling!

There is a multitude of watersports on the doorstep; sailing, surfing, kayaking, coasteering, and SUP to name a few. For the adventurous spirited guest there is abseiling, caving, archery, shooting, paintballing and a variety of motorsports (for example go-karting and quad biking) not far away. Or you could enjoy your break by curling up in front of the fire with a good book!
